At RBG Roofing & Building we carry out roofing work throughout Hereford, with our team based in the Forest of Dean over 36 years ago. Hereford is a cathedral city with a long architectural history, so plenty of properties call for careful, sympathetic work, and that starts with picking the right materials.
Our roofing expert company is used to the variety you find here: sandstone and half-timbered buildings, Georgian and Victorian townhouses, interwar semis, postwar estates and new-builds on the outskirts. When a roof is old, protected or listed, the repair has to blend with the original, and that often determines whether the work gets the go-ahead.
No two quotes are alike. We inspect the roof first, then price the job on what we actually find. A whole new roof on a Victorian terrace close to the centre, or a few slates replaced on a suburban home, is specified with the right materials for that particular building and any conservation rules involved.

From a simple repair to a complete rebuild, the job is done to a fair price and a timescale we agree with you up front. A single phone call is all it takes to get started, and each roof, big or small, gets our full attention.
Storm-battered or simply worn out? We mend damaged roofs and fit new ones with long-lasting materials chosen for your home, heritage properties included. We organise the work to keep mess and disturbance down and leave you with a roof built to last.
Where water shows up inside is often nowhere near where it got in. We trace it back through the roof, finding the cracked tile, tired flashing or choked gutter behind it, and repair the actual fault so the leak doesn’t return.
Living close to the Wye and in a wet county, many Hereford homes struggle with damp. We find what is letting the water in, deal with that, and give your walls and ceilings the chance to dry out for good.
Extensions, garages, dormers and shops all rely on flat roofs that clear water quickly. We lay and mend them with hard-wearing membranes that cope with wet British weather and suit the building underneath.
Rain often gets in through crumbling pointing, damaged pots or worn flashings. We repoint, rebuild and re-lead as needed, so the chimney is sturdy and looks right alongside the rest of your house.
Rotting fascias and gutters that overflow or droop allow water to soak the roof edge and walls. We fit clean, low-maintenance uPVC fascias, soffits and guttering and repair existing runs so water flows away properly.

Roof problems grow the longer they’re ignored. A tile that slips in autumn can lead to a damp ceiling and sodden insulation before winter is over. our local roofing contractors step in early and put things right for good, not with a temporary patch. You can count on frank advice, sound materials and careful workmanship, whether it’s a minor fix or a total re-roof. Your home gets the same respect as ours would.

Yes. Hereford has plenty of older buildings and some protected areas, so we pick materials and finishes to fit the property and the local requirements. Some work on listed buildings needs permission, so speak to the council before starting.
We cover the city itself and nearby villages such as Credenhill, Holmer, Bartestree, Lugwardine, Hampton Bishop and Withington, as well as Ross-on-Wye, Ledbury, Leominster, Coleford and Abergavenny.
